Photoshop 23.0.1 doesn't open any files on MacOS Monterey 12.01, MBP 2017 2.9Ghz i& with 16GB RAM from Lightroom or Finder. PS launches, and only shows spinning beach ball. Have to Force Quit the app.

If you restore your preferences using this manual method does it work correctly?

If that doesn't solve it, you can quit Photoshop and put the Settings folder back.

The other thing to try is creating a new Admin user account and run Photoshop from the new user account to see if the problem goes away: https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/basic-troubleshooting.html#permissions

Thank you for your ideas.  I've had the same problem and tried all the recommendations...nothing worked until I created a new admin user account.  I was able to run Photoshop from the new user account just fine...but once I logged out and went back into the original account, it wouldn't open again.  Any thoughts on what might be causing this issue in my admin?  I have all my docs on the original admin account and I would prefer not having to switch everything over.

Now the hard work: what is installed on the other account that conflict with Photoshop? We can't help you. You can reinstall each additional application one at a time and test until you locate the conflict or do a clean install but now you can run PS on a clean account.

Recall installation of a product just prior to the issue? Likely the conflict is with such a product. But you'll have to drill down and resolve this on your end.

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one), still locking up?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still locking up?
You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still still locking up?

Thank you for responding. Tried deleting preferences on open, gave access to PS via Security Settings, Deleted PS and re-installed, no change.

Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

If that doesn't work, make sure in System Preferences>Security>Privacy that you've given Photoshop full disk access.
