Hi,

Photoshop 24.0 keeps crashing almost every time I try to make an edit, use Nik software, and mask an item.  It's driving me crazy.  It worked fine until I installed the latest update on my Windows 10 computer yesterday. I have plenty of RAM and don't have a ton of programs open, so it's not that. Help!!

Remove Nik, still crashing?

If so, try resetting your preferences which is the first thing to fix if PS crashes.

Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings. You can also reset preferences upon a quit if Photoshop is running by going into General Preferences>General>Reset on Quit.

If that doesn't fix the issue:
Go to Preferences > Performance... and uncheck Multithreaded Compositing - and restart Photoshop.
Still crashing?
Go to Preferences > Performance... click Advanced Settings... and uncheck "GPU Compositing" - then restart Photoshop. Still crashing?

If your computer is using any NVIDIA product... check the drivers and make sure they are up to date.  You have to go through the NVIDIA apps to do this.

I have the problem too!
I'm just painting in Photoshop, haven't done anything different recently except updating to 24.0 and then the stability update 24.0.1. It's crashing 5 times per day vs 0 times before I updated.
