Since upgrading I can't drag anything into the library window, now to add to the library i have to click the plus and chosse graphic on the library window, and then it doesnt add the to selected group, it just puts it at the bottom and I have to move it.
Also, I can no longer drag things from the library directly into the layers window.
Both these things really slow me down, it's like photoshop has gone backwards since the update.
I wish they would stop changing things that worked well.

Thanks all, curious if you are both in ARM or Intel machines? Here is what the team came back with:
"Ps doesn’t yet support drag-and-drop to the UXP Libraries Panel, which is what is loaded on ARM machines. Drag-and-drop works fine with the CEP Libraries Panel, which ships on Intel machines."
Hope this clears this up.
Thank you,
Cory

Hi @patcorrigan89 and @patcorrigan89 thanks for the post. We are able to drag a layer to the Libraries tab and into the Your Library folder without any issues.
Could you share a screen video of what you are seeing for the team to look into?
Also @patcorrigan89 It may help if we could see your Photoshop System Info. Launch Photoshop, and select Help >System Info...and copy/paste the text in a reply.
Thank you,
Cory

I can drag to add in InDesign and Illustrator, and in the video I can add using the Creative Cloud app. It's only the Photoshop Library that does not allow drag and drop to add.

Thank you for the video @Kevin Stohlmeyer. Following your example we were able to drag an image from the desktop to the Libraries window and it went into the folder we dropped it on... so something is not correct.
I will reach out to the team to see what they might be thinking is happening here.
Thank you,
Cory

That's all the sytem info, how do i add a video? there was a way to attach on my other community post but it isn't on this one? I use it different to Kevin but it's the same issue just in a differnt way.
Also the title should have said 'can't' not 'can', but I think you guessed that 🙂

Hey @patcorrigan89 I dont think Bug posts allow video uploads so you'll need to provide a link. I just used my CC sync folder.

I've had to revert back to the old version, this issue and the escape key no longer canceling pop up windows (it rasterises smart objects and opens web pages now) is making this version unusable for the way I work. This might be your worst update ever.

Thanks Kevin, here's my video. It shows i can't drag into the library folder or from the library in into the layers palette. I need to be able to do both all the time!

I can at least drag into a document (as a smart object) or double click to open from the library. My issue is going in via Photoshop panel.

Does no one else find this a little ridiculous? The M1 Macs have been on the market for a couple years. Why isn't this fixed?

I'm on an M1 Max Macbook pro - so that would explain. Odd that the panel works in all other Adobe applications but PS.

I have two workarounds for not being able to drag-and-drop graphics from Photoshop ("Ps") Layers into Libraries, for other Mac users who are running the Apple Silicon version of Photoshop v. 24.4. The second one doesn't work inside Ps--the graphic has to be saved on the data drive in your computer.
Copying a graphic from Ps Layers panel into Libraries panel
- Select the appropriate layers containing the graphic asset in the Layers panel.
- Select the Move tool.
- In Ps Libraries panel, open the Library where you want the graphic to go. Click the + icon at the bottom of the panel and select Graphic.
- The selected asset appears in the Library.
Copying a graphic from your hard drive, desktop, etc., to Creative Cloud app ("CC")
- Open the CC app side-by-side with your data folder containing the graphic.
- In the CC app open the Library where you want the graphic to go and browse to the target group.
- Drag and drop the file from your data folder into CC.
- As you hover over the group, a vertical bar will appear to show you where you can drop the element.
- Release the mouse. The graphic asset appears in the Library group in the position where you dropped it.
- If you have sync file turned on in the Libraries panel inside Ps, the asset appears in the Library in the same position. To turn on sync file, click the cloud icon at the bottom of the panel.

OMG thank you. I used your first workaround and it was fast and easy. I lost two hours to this and your solution works in a snap.

Same here. I can now only drag/drop images to CC library directly through Adobe panel and no longer to Photoshop directly. Wheras some of my workmates are still able to do so and oddly we all use the same version 24.5... It's really wierd!
