Photoshop 24 to 25 - not updating

Was prompted to install the new vresion of Photoshop by Adobe Creative Desktop

Noticed that it was saying tha Photshop wasn't already installed...... But I definately have version 24.0 installed.
(I had installed Photoshop Beta, and just uninstalled it.)

So I tried installing the new version - installs Ok, and now shows up in Creative CLoud Desktop.
However it's not imported settings/action/workspace in from Ver 24.0
And still not showing 24.0 as installed.

I reset Creatve Cloud Desktop using Ctrl-Alt-R
No change.

How should I upgrade from 24 to 25 and keep workspace/actions etc ?

So along the lines of kglad suggestion:

  1. Uninstalled v 25
  2. Mine (24.4.0) was still working Ok.
  3. Backed up my actions - seems most weren't in standard AppData folder anyway - I had them elsewhere (My Documents).
  4. Installed 24.4.1
  5. Opened it - my actions weren't showing (+ other items)......
  6. So looks like 24.4.1 just over wrote 24.4.0 without import.... Darn
  7. But Creative Cloud is now showing updated to 24.7.1 and update to 25.0

Looks like I'll have to re-import actions and realised I didn't export my keyboard shortcuts.....
Will have to re-create them.

Bit of a pain but not the end of the world (More of a lightroom user)

So if anybody else sees this - backup everything first!

Upgraded to 25.0
Strange item : my shortcut keys are there!

.kys file located in
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Presets\Keyboard Shortcuts

But v 24 folder is empty:
C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2023\Presets\Keyboard Shortcuts
Must have either imported them before I went to 24.4.1 or copied them from older years 2022/2021 which have the kys files (but likely older versions)

uninstall v25 using the cc desktop app

then, assuming your cc app shows v24 as "try", click it to install over your current installation to correct the cc desktop app so it show v.24 can be "open"ed via the cc app.

then install v.25

interestingly 24.4.0 isn't listed in Creative Cloud Desktop - only 24.4.1 - maybe that's why.....
