Photoshop 25.1 Freezing When Closing Documents

Here goes! I saw a couple of others with a similar PS 25.1 freezing issue, but mine is a bit different.

When I try to close a document, PS freezes. Every option is greyed out. I can close them one by one with the red dot in the upper left-hand corner (I'm sure it has a name-ph, well). It will save anything I had made changes to, ones I had opened but hadn't changed do close. So, I am not losing any work...except for the tediousness of closing the too many files I have open. Did I solve my problem? How many files open are TOO many? 

ON Mac Studio M1, Apple Display & Max Sonoma 14

I have now closed Photoshop 4 times today. Did I explain it clearly enough? Here's a refresh...

Photoshop freezes upon saving files. I cannot change anything, but I can save by clicking the red dot in upper left corner, so I am VERY grateful for that. I updated PS to 25.2 and am on Mac Studio M1, Apple Display & Max Sonoma 14. Ideas? Thoights?
