What's new in this update? 

The latest release of Photoshop(v27.1) includes several performance enhancements and fixes for customer-reported issues. 

Scratch disk management is improved:

• Scratch disk handling is now more efficient, with updated free-space recommendations and optimized settings that help ensure smoother performance. Click here for more details.

Notable Fixes in this release:

• Generate Image and Import Image options are visible in the marquee style dropdown in the tool Option...
• Select People hangs when added to an Action.

Thanks for the update. The improved scratch disk handling is a big help and the performance feels smoother after updating. The fixes for the marquee options and the Select People action are also great additions. Just updated to version 27.1 and everything is working well so far. Appreciate the continued improvements.

27.0 has been routinely crashing my Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 whilst trying to "select background" or other more complex selections in Camera Raw.  Prior to 27.0 this very seldom occurred.  Does 27.1 fix this?

The app is working fine but I just discovered to my dismay that you can no longer export animated GIFs and these are vital to my work. I've had to go back to an old version. You keep adding more and more functions and now you take away ones that people use. Please reinstate it.

I am having an error with this update pertaining to CTRL/CMD C and V but only pertaining to the color picker. Copy/paste keyboard shortcuts work everywhere else in the program but DO NOT WORK TO COPY OR PASTE HEX CODES in the color picker. Right clicking and selecting Copy/Paste from the menu works fine. 

Something in this update broke the color picker's keyboard functionality.

Is this normal between the update for 2025 and 2026 versions? Because I've been having trouble with Photoshop lately and anytime I try to remove with the Quick Selection tool the background, I get the "could not complete your request because of a program error." And then after I use Photoshop and close out of the program, later on I get an error code "Adobe Creative Cloud is needed to resolve this problem. However, it is missing or damaged." This happens ever single time I use it and I don't know if it's a program issue or a technological issue on my side. I've tried to repair it and uninstalling it to reinstall the program and the thing keeps happening. What would someone do in a situtation like that for resolving the problem?

I hope you are doing well.
I am writing to request an important feature that would significantly improve the workflow between Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.

Currently, when text with Graphic Styles / Appearance effects is copied from Illustrator into Photoshop, the text can only remain fully intact if imported as a Smart Object. However, Smart Objects prevent the text from being editable directly inside Photoshop, since double-clicking opens the file back in Illustrator.

In many real-world workflows, especially in graphic design and social media production, we need:

The ability to transfer Illustrator text—along with its applied styles—into Photoshop while keeping it as an editable Photoshop text layer.

More specifically, it would be extremely helpful if Photoshop could directly interpret:

• Multiple strokes (similar to Illustrator’s Appearance panel)

• Layered fills

• More complex text appearances

• Automatic conversion of Illustrator Graphic Styles into Photoshop Layer Styles

This feature would allow designers to:

• Edit text inside Photoshop without re-creating complex effects manually

• Reduce time-consuming style reconstruction

• Avoid workflow disruption caused by Smart Object limitations

• Keep consistency between Illustrator and Photoshop assets

Requested Feature Summary:

Add an option such as:

“Paste Illustrator Text as Editable Photoshop Text With Effects”
or
“Convert Illustrator Graphic Styles to Photoshop Layer Styles”

This would dramatically improve cross-app compatibility and save a great deal of production time for designers who rely on both applications together.

Thank you for considering this enhancement.
I greatly appreciate the continuous improvements Adobe makes for creative professionals, and I believe this feature would have substantial positive impact.

In this version there's allready the use of Gemini 3.0 included but it's not free. It requires a additional monthly subscription from Google. The cheapest one gives you 2000 credits/month to generate images or to edit photo's. But how mucht can you do with this credits, how many credits it uses to, for example, edit a photo? Why is this not included in the Adobe subscription?
