Photoshop 27.1 will not open into a Custom Workspace

Photoshop 27.1 will not open into a custom Workspace without prompting to open its default workspace first. On agreeing to the default workspace from there I can then reset to my custom workspace from the top right menu. However, on closing and opening Photoshop again I am prompted to default every time...  : (

The custom workspace is working just fine in Photoshop version 27.0 and 26.11.2

This issue is not something expected for an official release from Adobe - what with all the millions of beta testers using this prior to release..

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling - even tried online support to no avail.
Anyone else experienced this issue and found a fix?

Mac Studio, Apple M2 Ultra, 64 GB, Sequoia 15.7.2

Update on how this issue was resolved. Albeit a long-winded workaround.

I believe my currently active workspace in 27.0 was somehow corrrupted during the update to 27.1
Wereas I had tried creating new versions from the workspace, after reseting preferences they to would remain corrupt and prompt a default on the next Photshop startup.

I noticed that it was not happening on earlier saved builds available in the dropdown menu. so I rolled back to a previous version and manually updated the keyboard s

Hey @si

Could you try one or both of the following troubleshooting steps to help get Photoshop back to where you need it to be?

> Manually reset the workspace preferences: Go to Preferences> Workspace and try saving a new custom workspace under a different name. Then, restart Photoshop.

> If that doesn't work, you can try resetting Photoshop preferences entirely. However, before doing this, please make sure to back up your prefrences. Here is an article with steps on how to Reset Photoshop preferences (https://adobe.ly/445TQp9) Once this is done, reload your workspace and try again. Let me know if it helps.

Hi @CMass

Thank you for your response.
I tried both options you advised, (multiple times) alas neither worked for me..

The only way to get the custom workspace to load in 27.1 is by first excepting a default workspace message at startup and then selecting it from the top right menu and reseting the workspace.
When I try to switch directly to the custom workspace from the menu it loads a photoshop default instead despite keeping the custom name. This issue is not repeating when reverting back to 27.0 - The very same workspace is fine.

All seems to working correctly again 🙂
