Photoshop 3D perspective issue

When working with photoshop or even illustrator 3D, I'm struggling with perspective. Everything seems isometric and I cannot figure out how to get objects to vanish into the distance

For example, this text on a wall, the wall has perspective and further into the distance each panel becomes shorter/smaller

But the text, which I created with photoshop 3D, does not. instead it's isometic, and does not fit with the wall. I am doing something wrong? or is this the limitation of photoshop 3D?

Illustrator has perspective grid which work better, but you cannot use it in conjunction with the 3D features.

Two things when matching 3D to a real life picture

1. First you need to make sure perspective is selected for the camera (Select the camera then go to the properties panel)

2. You need to match the camera lens Field of View to that used in the original image and then adjust the camera viewpoint

In Photoshop this must be done manually and by trial and error. Many full 3D applications have functions or plug ins for camera matching, which will automatically match the viewpoint and camera lens to a picture. For example the FSpy application that works as a plug in with Blender 3D.
