I have Photoshop 7 loaded from a disk many years ago, I see there has been an upgrade to 7.0.1. How do I go about this? Can find nowhere apart from the USA site which keeps transferring me to UK site. When I try to install updates from my Photoshop programme, it comes up with errors and will not connect. I would be grateful for any advice please.

Thank you. Version 7.0.1 downloaded. However if I may ask you something else please? When I open my Photoshop, then click on Help, updates, it brings up a box saying 'download error, could not connect to Adobe online'.

I don't have v7.0 installed here (I do still have the boxed discs ) but, bearing in mind that it is 14 full versions old, the most likely reason is that the links that the program is looking for no longer exist.
Were you able to install the update from that link?

Do you mean from the link you suggested, if so yes. It now says it is version 7.0.1. I will go on using it, as it is sufficient for my use.

I also have photoshop 7 and tried to update. I'm frustrated because back in the day it was $1000 so now I don't want to start paying a monthly/yearly fee for something i bought outright. How can I update? I tried the link you gave this other person, and it is no good. But then I noticed in the bottom corner it says I have 7.0.1. Is there anything that can be done?

If your photoshop 7 is version 7.0.1, then that's as up to date as it can get on windows.
If your running on an older mac g4 or g5 PowerPC there are a few more updates available to enhance performance with various PowerPC Processors, otherwise there are no other newer updates than 7.0.1 available on the windows side.
Photoshop 7 should run fine on windows 10/11 as long as the drive free space is not more than 1TB.
You can see the photoshop version you have by going to Help>About Photoshop (windows) or Photoshop>About Photoshop (mac)

I want to let people know about these type of scammers. I didn't even realise until after I'd been back and forth with them several times (until they wanted me to buy something). I contacted adobe chat and they said it was a legit email, then when I told them about wanting me to pay, they went back and investigated and said it was a bogus email... because it should have said adobe.com not outlook.com, but the point is... even the adobe chat specialist didn't catch it at first. I want to get the word out, but I cannot even see a way to post. I can only reply to people. Here is a screenshot of the private message they sent me

If you intend to keep using this obsolete Photoshop version keep in mind that updating any component (OS, drivers, hardware) might prove disastrous for its functioning and make sure you can roll it back.

Thank you. It was probably too much of an advanced programme for me, as I am sure I do not use it to it's potential!
