Photoshop actions fail as no commands work.

I never had a problem in CS6, but ever since I switched to Creative Cloud, I can't use ANY photoshop actiuons.

I get a variety of error dialogues and the action fails every time. 

Dialogues include:

• The command “Select” is not currently available.
• The command “Subtract” is not currently available.
• The command “Set” is not currently available.
• The command “Move” is not currently available.
