Hello -
I have a macbook air that I am using to connect to my work computer that is windows 10. I am trying to edit a photo is Photoshop CC using the clone stamp tool. Whenever I try to use alt + click, the right click menu appears. The cursor does change to the source point finder when i hit alt + click but as soon as I click it goes away and the menu pops up. when I try to use the clone stamp, I receive the error that no clone area has been defined.
Has anyone run into this? I'm sure the problem has something to do with using a mac keyboard on a windows system.
Thanks
Amanda

@amandao97803818 Hi there, well, it's going to be difficult for me to replicate your issue because of the conflicting hardware. What other configurations have you tried to isolate to confirm this is causing the conflict? Do you absolutely have to use this set up? Are you writing files back to the Macbook Air? Appears that some other application or utility is utilizing alt-click events with the clone stamp. This could be caused by something other than the Windows/Mac crossover.

Hi - When I'm telecommuting this is always my setup. I've been using this setup since last March and this oddly didn't start till about a month ago. i'm not writing files back to the Macbook Air. Files I'm working on are in a Windows 10 enviroment and stay in that environment. I assumed the problem was my keyboard/keys not translating over correctly but it could be something else I'm not thinking of.

Sounds like the Ctrl key is down, or the mouse button or pen input is mapped in a non-default way.

I agree about the Ctrl key. On a Mac, Ctrl+left click is equivalent to a right-click. All Macs used to have a one-button mouse — and some still do.

When I teach this happens to me. I'm on a Mac, my students are often on PC. When I take control of their screen I'm constantly accidentally brining up that right click windows menu. Try different ways - hold down the mouse and add option, hold option, then hold mouse... go slow to see if you can get it. It's a windows issue - how ever you have it set on your PC. Can you change your PC keyboard shortcut that opens that window?
