Photoshop Art History Brush Bug in newer Versions of Photoshop?

I used the Art History Brush several times in the past and it still works like in should in the 24.0 Version i have installed. But using the current Photoshop Beta or the current 24.5 official version the art history brush behaves very strange.

see attached picture, area is set to zero to see the problem better. I know it's picking up the color but in white you can better see the problem i'm having. I'm painting just in the middle, but somehow it's drawing copies of it in circles all around it?

I can reproduce that in Photoshop Beta and 24.5. In Version 24.0 the Art History Brush works like normal, on the same computer... I'm somehow clueless. Even tried it on a different computer and can reproduce it...

I don't know if you realize, but I think that all of the tools that use a brush type cursor can be edited via the Brush Settings panel. So it sounds like you may have something other than a plain vanilla round preset selected.
