Photoshop Artboards- Transparent Background

When I first open up a new artboard it appears as a white box on my default med.grey background. That's great. As soon as I duplicate or create a new artboard I get a transparent background behind my boards. It's very distracting to my eye. Is there a reason this is happening to me and doesn't seen to be an issue during any of

the "artboard Instruction" videos?

Delete Layer 1. I’m pretty sure that will remove the transparent background.

i tried that and it didn't fix the issue. I added that layer in hopes to fill it with the background color and create a solid background. Didn't work

I can't duplicate what you are seeing. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with your graphics card. Have you tried turning off the Graphics Processor in the preferences, performance tab?
