Hi

  • The first thing to check is to see if either Shift key is stuck.
  • The second thing to do is to Reset the line tool in the options bar — right click the icon on the far left of the options bar.

Hi

In Ged’s screen shot, note that Reset All Tools is below the option to Reset the current tool. Try that first.

If that doesn’t work you may have to Reset Preferences from Preferences > General > Reset Preferences on Quit, then Quit and Relaunch. Be sure to backup Actions, Brushes, Swatches, etc., first.

I've seen this issue on multiple computers running Windows (both 7 and 10) and Wacom tablets. As far as I've been able to figure out, it is some sort of memory issue and not a Photoshop bug. Wacom tech support was zero help in troubleshooting. At this point when it happens, switching to another app and back usually fixes the glitch.
