Photoshop bug and crashes using remove background tool

Hello! Could anyone tell me why this is happening? When I try to remove the background or select the subject of any image I get this error in photoshop and I have to restart it.

Try unticking GPU in Photoshop preferences.

I disabled gpu acceleration and it worked, does that mean my gpu is having a problem? Photoshop is horrible with this option disabled 😞
