So recently updated my photoshop software and it previously worked with my Windows 10 computer but recently (for a while now) I have been unable to simply open the program. I would try to launch photoshop but without even loading the start screen I would get a dialog box saying *see attached image*. I am not the best at troubleshooting, so if anyone can help I would be so grateful!
I hope you'll excuse the intrusion, Dave.
Go into Software and Programs in your Control Panel, look for and uninstall Web Companion.
It's made by Lavasoft and carries these problem dlls. The dlls can be located and renamed, but uninstalling the entire program rather than disabling a part of it would be a quick and complete fix.

Hi
Can you go into the windows reliability monitor (type reliability into the windows search box) and look for a red cross at the time of the problem.
Click on the cross and you should see a "critical event" related to Photoshop (the one I show below related to premiere Pro)
Double Click on the title of that event (where I have circled not the action) and it should open a problem description - something like this one which was related to Premiere Pro. Copy it here and it will give a further indication as to what is causing your issue.

No intrusion at all Gene, it's "round the world - round the clock" help that makes this a great forum. I've just come back on line here in the UK.
annac - gener7 is spot on.
The Lavasoft software is known to cause issues. You may need to look for it in Control Panel programs as Web Companion or Ad Aware. Once you uninstall that you should be fine

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
My lightroom works fine. Below is the error report. I have not been able to locate Lavasoft or web companion-adaware

First check under Windows Control Panel > Programs and Feature and look for "web companion"... and uninstall it.
If that does not work... follow the instructions here: Photoshop crashes with Lavasoft Chrome extension installed
