Hey awesome people! I've recently gotten these message pop up when I try to open Photoshop.....any idea how to fix this?

1) error reading machine specific preferences. They will be reset to defaults.

When I press ok.....it shows this and then closes photoshop:

2) Could not load actions because end of file was encountered

Appreciate all your help!

Lina

In macOS, it may not work properly due to system user account corruption.
In that case, it is essential to create another user account and migrate the environment there.

At the same time, Photoshop CC 2017 is already an older version and should be migrated to a newer version.

    Hi Lina,

Sorry to hear that Photoshop does not open, could you please let us know the version of Photoshop you're using? You can check that by going to Help > System Info

Als, what operating system are you working on?

Would you mind resetting the preferences of Photoshop and see if it helps? https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/preferences.html

Note: Make sure that you back up all your custom presets, brushes and actions before restoring Photoshop's preferences. Migrate presets, actions, and settings

    Thanks Sahil.

I'm currently using Photoshop CC 2017 on a 2 year old Mac (totally not techy so forgive me that I don't know the exact answer lol)

I will try the things you suggested.  thanks!

I tried this video already, and after eventaully finding the library (foudn out if you don't see if, pressing options will make it show up while under GO). Anyhoo, I didn't see the exact stuff there that the lady in the video mentioned, so because in my error message it said "Could not load actions because end of file was encountered", I moved the actions prefs folder to the desktop (which now I can't find after realizing that didn't solve my problem. lol The error now reads "could not initialize Photoshop because of an unexpected end of file was encountered.") Anythign you suggest?  Can I just uninstall Photoshop and then re-install it?
