Question

Photoshop CC 2018 not recognizing my licence

Hello

I have a mid 2014 macbook pro, and because of compability issues with later OS, I am using macOS Sierra 10.12.6.

Now, even though I have a CC plan, and the application is recognized in the list of installed apps in the Creative Cloud app, Photoshop wont run. When I try to run it, I get asked to licence the software, and when I log in, it says I dont hae a licence for this application.

Is there a way to have this older version of Photoshop registered to my license/my CC account?

This seems like a very simple problem, that Adobe should be able to solve quite easily!

Please help. I should not have to buy a new computer to run Photoshop (if I update my OS, the computer will not work properly)

Additional info: I have been using the adobe applications for years on this computer. The last years have been on a student account, as my university provided the applications for their students.

Neither Apple not Adobe are supporting Sierra as it is very old. Your comment about the computer not working with a newer OS version makes no sense. Your computer will run Big Sur which is also unsupported but a lot newer and more secure.

As for needing to purchase a new computer, well, yes, you probably do. Even an M1 MacBook Air (with 16GB of RAM) would run circles around your computer and be supported.

@jorjohwas Photoshop CC 2018 (or other versions) do not have licenses - they are subscription based. Where did you purchase your copy of CC 2018? If you log into https://account.adobe.com/plans you can check your account status.

Hi, Kevin. Same problem, here. I purchased CC 2018 from Adobe, but when I go to see my plans, nothing but the current offerings are there. I like to keep one old version.

I am trying to open my old cc 2018, so I can use the 3d workspace. I have never had an issue with it before, but today, it quit, with a message that I need to renew. I'm baffled. Why do I have to renew a product that isn't even supported, anymore, or offered for download? Is there a work-around to this? Bummed.
