Photoshop CC 2018 Requires Windows 10 Anniversary Edition

This seems to be a common problem with no viable solution.  Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 is no longer functioning after latest Windows update.  Adobe's response to me was to use the previous version.  I don't pay a monthly subscription to "use the previous version".    They also checked my Visual C++ Runtime

I've tried to uninstall/reinstall (so has Adobe), and we tried deleting preferences.

They need to fix this or refund a portion of my subscription until it is.

Any ideas?  I've exhausted my searches.

    Do you get any kind of error message when trying to run photoshop?

    What version of windows 10 do you have?

    Press Win Logo key + R

    Then type winver

    If you have an older windows 10 version before 1607 that is not supported for photoshop cc 2018 (19.1 and later), then Adobe is only following Microsofts lead in that Microsoft is not supporting those older versions and so adobe isn't either.

    I'm getting the same now with the Windows Enterprise. if we can use the Adobe systems and need rollback- just cancel my subscriptions and I will install my CD Version from 2012,

    I have all the Windows 10 updates.  Trying to install Creative cloud for the first time and it just sits at 5% every time until it fails.  Firewall is turned off.  Any suggestions ?

      I think this is my issue too- I think I had the latest version of Photoshop working fine at some point, because I noticed updated features in  brushes - hovering over one would result in a fly-out menu with graphic instructions. Is that a feature of 2018?  I was unable to update CC apps for weeks. After Adobe tech support and other software support, it was still unresolved. The downloads were stopping at .5, which Adobe said meant it was my network or firewall blocking the upate.  Not. I waited a week or so and  re-tried just now the update went through, but it seems it's the older version.  Frustrating! By theway, I am using Windows Version 1709. Updates all working fine on my Mac.

        I have the same issue with Windows Version 1709. I just reformatted my pc to start afresh, then update window 10 to their latest 1709 before installing Photoshop through my creative cloud subscription, and now it is telling me I need Windows 10 Anniversary Update (1607) or later for it to work. Which I have. 1709 is a later version right? So why is it not working?

        Okay, windows version WAS this issue.  I assumed, incorrectly, that the updates were actually updating.  I needed to free up disk space for the update to take effect.  This forum was more helpful than two hours on the phone with Adobe.  Thank you.

        That said ...

        Now when I right click on an image in Lightroom Classic (yes upgraded to current) to Photoshop 2018, and select EDIT IN Photoshop, it fails and says it can't launch Photoshop.   Yet I can start Photoshop manually just fine.

          Our Windows Updates come automatically, not something I can control.  But it just happened.  My version is well behind your screen shot

          Windows Version 1511 (OS Build 10586.1176 )

          I don't know why Windows Update would go backwards.  I'll check with our IT admin folks Monday.

          Can you please tell us what issues you are having, the latest version of Windows10 is

          Which works fine with Photoshop CC2018

          Windows10 Anniversary update was released in June 2016 so maybe you OS is not up to date

          Click on the start menu and type winver to check which version of Windows you have installed

          You really need to provide more info as to what the issues you are having are

          My guess is that you got a video driver update bundled with the Windows update, and that's the real problem. Roll back, or go to the GPU maker's website and leapfrog to an even newer version (Windows Update is usually pretty far behind).
