When I've drawn a path in Photoshop to cut the subject out of the picture, I want to save the used vectormask.
As I remember you do this by double clicking the vectormask and just name it and done.
Now when I click "ok", It doesn't save the vectormask.
How do I fix this? Or is there a new way I don't know?
»Because right now, it's still a temporary path, right?«
No, a Vector Mask exists as long as the Layer exists.
If one flattens the image (but why would one do that?) it would be destroyed.
»I am used to using Photoshop CS5 and in that version you could save the path by double clicking it«
I suspect that this doesn’t work at current is owed to the recent bug.
Select the subPathItems, copy, create a new Path and paste.

Vectormasks are not regular Paths and would not save in a jpg or other flattened image format.
Could you please post meaningful screenshots with the pertinent Panels (Toolbar, Layers, Channels, History, Options Bar, …) visible?
Unfortunately a recent bug seems to make it impossible to simply duplicate a Vector Mask in the Paths Panel, so you may need to select and copy the subPathItems and paste them into a new Path.

So, I made this Vectormask. And I just want to save the path so I can use it after I disable the vectormask.
Because right now, it's still a temporary path, right?
I am used to using Photoshop CS5 and in that version you could save the path by double clicking it, giving it a name, press save and it has been saved.

Thank you very much for this info!

Another work-around would be
• Image > Duplicate
• Drag the Vector Mask from the Paths Panel onto the original image’s canvas
• close the duplicate image
But copy/pasting into a new Path seems more efficient to me.

This bug seems to have been fixed in Photoshop 22.4.3
