Dear all,

Photoshop critical issue - Colour setting and CMYK ICC profiles

Photoshop CC 2022/2023 incoherent colour setting behavior.
Colour settings have different behavior if the setting is loaded from the disk or selected from colour setting the dropdown.

Step 1 -> copy colour setting to the lib
/Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Color/Settings/

Step 2 -> select each colour setting by dropdown, and check the ICC profile in the CMYK section (the result is not good, CMYK ICC profile does not correspond to the selected setting)
FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI)
FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI).csf-> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI)
FOGRA40 SC paper (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)

Step 3 -> open each colour settings by the 'open' button and check the ICC profile in the CMYK section (the result is good, CMYK ICC profile correspond to the selected setting)
FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI)
FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)
FOGRA40 SC paper (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA40 SC paper (ECI)

Conclusion:
ICC profiles are different for the same setting if it is loaded from the dropdown or directly loaded from the disk

Expected result:
The ICC profile must be the same, regardless of the method used to select it
FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 (ECI)
FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA39 ISO Coated v2 300% (ECI)
FOGRA40 SC paper (ECI).csf -> ICC -> FOGRA40 SC paper (ECI)

Tested on CC 2022 (23.5.2) and 2023 (24.0.0)
Ox: Ventura (13.0.1) intel

Note:
This test has been done with InDesign, and there is no problem.

Wow, that screen capture really is wild.

So if you set up the color settings as you desire and save them as a custom .CSF, that doesn't stick and defaults back to what you've shown?

I've made a custom setting and saved the .CSF to the desktop. I can revert to my original or load that saved. CSF, it works as expected.

Here's a link to the one I made, can you download and try it:

Edit: can you upload your .CSFs for download so they can be tested?

I was able to download and load each of your .csf files into the Color Settings.

Hi,
Upgraded to the latest version, the problem persists.
Note: I tested on different machines, the problem only occurs on Os Ventura (intel) on all versions of Photoshop.

ICC cmyk section has an offset of one with the setting used.

Ex: select the parameter FOGRA 42, the cmyk ICC shows FOGRA 41!

Hi @hervel40491038 curious if you have updated to the latest, 24.1, to see if this issue persists?

Thank you,
