Photoshop CC 2022 Sky Replacement not working

Contributor ,
Dec 09, 2021 Dec 09, 2021

I recently updated my Photoshop CC 2022 to the latest version and the Sky Replacement feature isn't working. I get a message that Photoshop is unable to perform this function. I reverted to a previous version and it does the same thing. Please advise how to correct this issue. Thanks so much.

I found a solution in the Adobe Community forum online. I reset my
"Settings" folder and now the replace sky function is working. While that
procedure works, it's very inconvenient as I have to reset all of my
preferences as they were previously. If there is another way to correct
this I would like to know. Thank you.

Hi there,

We're sorry about the trouble experienced. Would you mind sharing your system specification ?
Go to Photoshop's Preferences > Performance and uncheck Use Graphics Processor and restart
Also, update Photoshop to 23.1, click "Update" in the Creative Cloud desktop app next to Photoshop. More detailed instructions for updating

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Ranjisha

I am also having issues with the sky replacement function. I am using a Macbook Pro purchased Jan 2022 with the latest updates for photoshop installed and plenty of power in the laptop. Have never experienced the problem before on my old, less powerful iMac. The main issue is selecting the sky I want - just keep getting the spinning wheel and everything becomes unresponsive.

Hi, I also get the error message that the sky replacement is not working.  I have tried changing the preferences, > performance > unchecking Use Graphics Processor,  as suggested previously.

What options asre available to insert a sky replacement in my image?

Talking to other people using PS 2022, I was told that they are having the same issue.

My PS is version 23.2.2.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Thanks for reaching out. We're here to help.
What type of file are you trying to use for sky replacement?

You may try to reset Photoshop preferences back to defaults and check if that helps. Here's the article for the steps: https://adobe.ly/3ceal5t Also, back up the existing Photoshop preferences if you have any custom brushes, action, and workspace: https://adobe.ly/2vNz6FG.

Regards.

LATEST

I'm on the latest version of Creative Cloud and on the update to Photoshop on a MacBook Pro. I'm working with a PSD file. I have selected the area that I need I sky replaced and nothing happens.

I have reset my preferences too.
