Experiencing the same issue. I did a font test and no damaged fonts. No luck after an uninstall and reinstall either.

Are you on Mac as well? Did you guys try other document types (like 8-bit or 16-bit)? Documents open or closed?

Try also using Type > Font Preview Size > None on the menu bar before even attempting to click the Type Tool.

It's always seemed a little wonky and laggy to me, as cool and helpful as it is. I'm guessing video drivers aren't helping here. It's too bad Apple doesn't give control of that to the user to help rectify issues.

I actaully just got this fixed. The problem was that some of my fonts were corrupted. Try removing problem fonts as follows:

  1. Choose Applications > Font Book.
  2. Choose All Fonts in the Collection column.
  3. Choose File > Validate Font.
  4. Delete the damaged or duplicate fonts.

That might fix the problem and perhaps some other font-related problems as well.

You didn't said where to find that font book! How to find it? I can't find it anywhere.

After uninstalling all (possible) fonts, checking and two hours of searching, I found the solution here. Many thanks for this. Type > Font Preview Size

In German:

Nach Deinstalieren aller (möglichen) Fonts und zwei Stunden Suche habe ich hier die Lösung gefunden. Vielen Dank dafür. Auf Deutsch: Menü > Schrift > Vorschaugröße für Schrift > OHNE

I SOLVED it this way, I had the same problem on photoshop 2023(V.24.7), Tried all solution on the internet, and I couldn't find working solution for me.

1. Type anything in the Adobe illustrator and copy (Ctrl+C) that text, (this text can be change later in photoshop).

Step-1.jpgexpand image

2. Open Photoshop and paste (Ctrl+V) the text, and there will be a popup menu asking how you want to paste the copied content, select the first option named 'Layers' and press OK.

Step-2.jpgexpand image

3. Open the layer panel (Window > Layers) You'll see a folder with the text that we copied from illustrator.

Step-3.jpgexpand image

4. Pick type tool (ShortCut is T) or double click on the text, it can be edited to any text.

Step-4.jpgexpand image

5. If you need more text layers, just duplicate the current layer by pressing shortcut Ctrl+J, or going to the top menu layer > New > Layer Via Copy.

Step-5.jpgexpand image

For the future use, you may use an old Photoshop PSD file to copy the text layer in to the new document, or repeat the process again.

I hope it helps 🙂 Thank you!

May be Adobe will fix this issue on the new update.
