Photoshop CC Zoom Tool + Space bar + hand icon not panning Image

Community Beginner ,

Hi all,

I seem to have a problem with panning my image when using the zoom tool. I get the hand icon but I can't move the image, but I can move the image when I just select the hand tool from my tools. So for some reason, the shortcut isn't working. Just wondering if anyone else has the same problem. I also have illustrator cc and it works fine there. I have tried resetting my tools, this didn't work and I have tried closing chrome, this also didn't work. I have also tried closing all of my chrome extensions.

Not a huge problem really but it's annoying as I do like to use the shortcut a lot.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Everything works fine on Win with latest and greatest Photoshop. Try suggestion above and be aware of letter H shortcut which will allow you to navigate image using so-called birds eye view. Press letter H then click and drag rectangle to portion which you want to see in view.

I suppose not everyone has it, but my trackpad will allow me to pan my image when using other tools and without using the Spacebar.

Also be sure "Overscroll" is checked on in Edit > Preferences > Tools or if your image is zoomed out less than full screen you can't move it.
