Question

Photoshop CC2018 Smart Filters turning off

Is there a keystroke which turns off all smart filters within a scene?

I ask because I am working on large composited images with many smart objects, many of which have smart filers (mainly sharpen or high pass) applied to them.

Sometime when working on these I have noticed that all the smart filters have been turned off (visibility off).  That is every smart filter on every smart object in the scene has been disabled.  I cannot find any reference to a way that you can turn all smart filters in a file on or off so I am trying to find out what is causing it to happen.

It's pretty annoying when it does happen as the files often have up to a hundred layers many of which are smart objects with smart filters that then all need turning back on by hand one by one.

Hi Firedrake,

By default there is no option but I know an unused combination is Shift+Ctrl+M.

You can set it by going to Keyboard Shortcuts.

Please go to Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts Under Layers you'll find Smart filters.

Thank you for your help but I need to find out why all the smart objects in my files are getting turned off.

Enabling a hot key will only allow the disabling of a smart filter on a single layer.

For some reason something I am doing is very occasionally causing all the smart filters in all the layers in a file to be disabled.

Unless you can reproduce the effect it may be hard/impossible to pinpoint the cause.

Under which circumstances does it happen?
