Hi! I have a problem i guess with my color profile in photoshop, I work with Lightroom the rwa file then export in dng and when I open the file in photoshop the file loose saturation and look not so nice like in lightroom, in the general setting i export the file in sRGB. Any suggestion on where I get it wrong?

thank you! Sarah

Hello Sarah,

It sounds like the issue might be related to color profile management between Lightroom and Photoshop.
Here are some suggestions:
Check that both Lightroom and Photoshop are using the same color profile (sRGB, Adobe RGB, or ProPhoto RGB). Since you export in sRGB, make sure Photoshop is also set to sRGB.
When opening your DNG file in Photoshop, see if it asks to assign or convert a color profile. Always assign or convert to sRGB to keep colors consistent.
Use soft proofing in Photoshop to preview how the image will appear in different color spaces.
Make sure your monitor is calibrated correctly, as this affects how colors look. Double-check your export settings in Lightroom to ensure no unintended adjustments.
If the desaturation continues, try exporting in Adobe RGB to see if that works better.
Hope this helps!

@Angel028 Sarah, Differing appearance between applications can be due to a mnoitor display profile issue, are you making a profile for your display using an attached colorimeter?

Secondly -

If you are using a monitor display with a large colourspace (some of those "large gamut" screens state "98% AdobeRGB" in sales documentation) and saving the file as sRGB - that could be the issue. sRGB is a smaller colourspace than AdobeRGB, so that colourspace profile could choke the colour a little.

Here's a test to do - I am NOT advising you to work this way permanently as that requires some quite in depth knowledge, but, just for now, just as a test, try saving from Lightroom in the ProPhoto colourspace (that's a very big colourspace, hence my warning about 'in depth knowledge' being needed to adopt that permanently)

SO - Does the colour still change between the applications?

It doesn’t matter how the default RGB colourspace profile in Photoshop's color settings is configured, just be sure that "preserve embedded profiles" is checked.

I hope this helps
