Photoshop Crashes & Freezes Every Day

I've had this going on for three months now.  Photoshop freezes. I can close files by clicking the red dot on upper left of each file and also save it (for which I am grateful), but nothing else is accessible. 

Apple M1 Max, Sonoma 14.2.1 and PS 25.4 (just updated today). I have a Kensington SlimBlade Pro trackball and am using SteerMouse, as Kensington TRackWorks was not playing well with Sonoma. Ideas? 

Steps I've taken

Only opening 4-5 files

Only have Photoshop and Mail/Messages running

I went through the suggested steps to help Photoshop and implemented ones I hadn't already
