Yes, thank you. I was going to say the same things about looking for P3 systems as well, perhaps with help from Intel.

    Hi everyone,

We just posted an update that includes addressing this issue. You can get the update from Photoshop's Help> Updates...

Alternatively, you can go to this link to download an installer:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4733

You should no longer see the application error on launch. Because the chipsets that throw this error don't support SSE2 instruction sets, GPU features and 3D features in Ps CS5 Extended will not work.

    Regards,

I installed Photoshop CS5 and his Update Version 12.01.  The new “mixing brush” does not function. When I use it, Photoshop disappears from the screen.

(My configuration - AMD ATHLON XP 2600 and Graphics card Matrox Millenium G400 max dual head)

Excuse me for my English. I am French.

    Thank you

Mixing brush crashes CS5 on my computer also.

See previous post from me re- specification.

    Yes I see.

It is the processor which is responsible and not the graphics card or directX.

If it says an updater is already running - it is because the OS thinks that an updater is already running.

We have seen cases where malware forced that flag on to prevent other updaters from being run.

When I use the “mixing brush” Photoshop CS5 Update 12.01 disappears from the screen.

Thank you for your Update 12.01. The other instructions function perfectly.

Well, everything is now working fine. Thank you for fixing it. I guess it took ages as you were fixing more than 5 bugs?

I am about to go on to a new PC too! I think anyone on an Athlon XP processor will need to upgrade soon, I have a feeling they are having a bluescreen stage, and it is really annoying now .

    Thanks again,

    Alex.

Could you provide more info about your system? As far as i know, this problem has only been seen on old processors that don't have SSE2

    Hi,

Are you running into the same launch error with 12.0.0? Or or you running into problems getting the updater to install?

    thx,

    steve

For anyone having problems getting the 12.0.1 update to install, do you have just a Photoshop CS5 point product install, or are you using a Creative Suite SKU? Did you license Photoshop on install (entered serial number), or are you running on a trial license? If you are running on a trial license, could you be past the 30 day trial period?

Do you see an error in the installer dialog, or an error trying to launch Ps? Catz's error is showing up in the installer dialog.

    thx,

    steve
