I've downloaded the PS CS5 extended version but can't install it on my new Mac computer.

    Which operating system? High Sierra, Mojave?

    I am also trying to install CS5 on my new MacBook Pro running Mojave. It is working fine on an older laptop running Mojave but it's been on that computer for years. When I follow the above instructions and attempt to open the install file I get the same response as if I just try to open the regular installer. Any ideas?

    This is a Gatekeeper problem, where Mac's own security tries to keep out "unsigned" apps and gives this misleading "damaged" message. CS5 came out before MacOS's Gatekeeper program and isn't "signed", and that's why you get the error, but the file is not damaged.

    You will have to temporarily set your Mac to "Open files from anywhere". You will need the Mac app "Terminal", which you can open from Spotlight.
