Photoshop CS6 Extended not working properly since installing Windows 10

I just installed Windows 10 (from Windows 7) on my Dell Latitute 6720 Desktop.  It was working perfectly prior to Windows 10.  The problems so far are when using the clone tool, brush tool, skewing an image, copying and pasting, cropping, quick selection tool (plus probably more I haven't used) that Photoshop now flashes on and off, ie the screen goes black and I can't see the image or the background behind the image goes checkered.  In addition to this the colours flash dull and bright while working in Photoshop.

Anyway have any idea why this might be?

    Hi Gene and Ged,

Looks like it might be the GPU driver. It appears to be definitely a

    graphics problem.

I spoke to Dell tech support about my computer and running Photoshop and

there is no graphics driver download for Windows 10 for this model

computer. Looks like I might have to go back to Windows 7 to get my

photoshop program working properly again (either that or get a newer model

computer which is not my first choice as it works fine...only need web and

photoshop!). I had no problems with Windows 7.

Thanks for all your help in troubleshooting this problem.

    Best regards,

    Vicki

In addition to what Gene said you may want to look at your GPU driver, updating it from the manufacturers website may help

Actually the standard advice is to visit the graphics card maker for updated drivers, not your PC maker or Microsoft Update.

Troubleshoot Photoshop graphics processor (GPU) and graphics driver issues to find which GPU maker's website to visit.

I've never seen any problems with the windowss 7-10 upgrade path.

First be sure sure Windows 10 is patched to the latest update: 1803 and Photoshop 13.01.3

If that's good, try resetting Preferences, they can get corrupted and cause unusual behavior.

Windows - double-click the PS icon to start Photoshop

                      Immediately Hold down CTRL-SHIFT-ALT

You will see a delete preferences dialog. Click “yes".
