Photoshop CS6 Hard Copy Install? Possible?

Hello everyone!
As y'all are aware I'm sure, Photoshop CS6 does not work with the newest OS for Mac. (I missed that message because I'm stuck in my ways.) Long story short, I've literally wiped my mac in order to re-install my old Photoshop CS6 (which I love just the way it was/is).

I'm literally holding my original box, my original CDs, my receipt from Best Buy WITH my product Key. However when I attempt to install it, It sends me to a page that tells me the code is invalid. I've sent a message to contact support but was hoping maybe there is someone else out there in a similar situation that could give me a bit more peace of mind?
I'm not super tech - but in my head I assume when the program sends off the key to the 'servers' or wherever the heck it goes, since it's older it makes sense it would say it's bad/invalid, but has anyone contacted support for maybe a new product Key?

Thanks for any info!

The redemption code is a single use thing, it gives you the serial number. You're holding the original CDs, but are you installing from them too? (If this was an academic version the download will not work).

Yes I'm using the disks to install, I am 99% sure I have the right key, I'm worried I might need to wipe my computer again to use an older OS maybe? I'm not sure if that would factor into anything or not. (Negative, I just bought a copy from Best Buy)

Photoshop CS6 is guaranteed to run from 10.6 to 10.9, but I don't think it is used within that range.
Serial number recognition may not work properly in environments where operation is not guaranteed.
The way to improve this is to use for Creative Cloud and use the provided version.

You don’t need a product key, you need your serial number. If you have a redemption code you swapped it for a serial number. https://helpx.adobe.com/uk/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html

Hrm, I've got my redemption code - when entered it tells me it's invalid, I've also located my serial number, also saying it's invalid... so frustrating since this was working not even 5 days ago! *siiigh* I'll try to contact them and see if there is anything I can do. Thanks for the reponse!
