Question

Photoshop CS6 Installation today- the question

Hi everybody,

I have been using my Photoshop CS6 since 2013. I own the boxed version bought in 2013 🙂 I think it is pretty enough for me. I use it with Camera Raw 9.1.1

My problem is: 2 days ago my CS6 Adobe Bridge suddenly stopped to work. It keeps saying " this operation failed" when I try to open Bridge.

Bridge is a vital part for my work. What to do?

I guess I need to uninstall my Photoshop CS6 and reinstall it.

But I started to worry - is installation of CS6 possible now ?

I have boxed version but When I reinstall it it will be in a 2012 state. So I will need all these updates which were available through years till 2015. Are these updates still available from Adobe?

I know that Camera Raw 9.1.1 isn't available to download from Adobe so I  started to worry what about all updates which I need for CS6.

Does anybody know if updates for CS6 are still there?

Many thanks for any answer and advice 🙂

You can always try resetting your Bridge CS6 preferences, which I should have recommended first up.

Bridge is indeed free, but ACR won't work in it unless you have a corresponding licensed Photoshop version. That's CC.

That's why I wrote "for what that is worth."... :]

What I haven't seen asked and what you haven't stated is What operating system are you using? Mac Windows and the exact version number of either.

So it a crap shoot for you now that Microsoft will no be plugging security issues newly discovered in Windows 7. Windows 7 is now open games for hackers their new attacks will not be blocked by new Window 7 updates. Good luck gambler. Stay off the Web as much as you can.

Thank you so much for the links! I have just downloaded them. What a relief they are still there.

I am going to try free Bridge CC before I uninstall my CS6 Photoshop.

You may want to try deleting CS6 Bridge preferences and cash to see if CS6 Bridge will work then. Use Windows File explored to located them.

Find "C:\Users\(Your User ID)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\"  Rename any folder in that folder with Bridge in the folder name.

Like rename folder "Bridge CS6" to "Bridge CS6 Old"

Before you change Photoshop which is working, Bridge in CC is freely available, for what that is worth.

CS6 should install and activate - it will not though work with Mac OS Catalina.

Updates to CS6 are no longer available from Adobe
