Photoshop deleting layer styles

Im working with Photoshop 2020 and ever since I updated to the 21.0.3 version I've had a consistant issue with Photoshop deleting all of my extra layer styles (leaving only the default ones such as Basics, Fur, Etc.) every time I shut down my MacBook and start it up the next morning. Which forces me to upload ALL my extra layer styles again or keep my laptop asleep to prevent this from happening. If anyone knows what's going on I would greatly appreciate the help.

Layer styles you add and import into your Photoshop Styles palette are stored in your user id Photoshop's preferences folder in  the file "Styles.psp".

Make sure that file is being updated with your additions and make a backup copy so you can restore it should your styles be reset. On a Windows the default location for your user id Photoshop preferences folder would be:

"C:\Users\(your user id)\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2020\Adobe Photoshop 2020 Settings"

You can use finder to search for "Styles.psp" to find the location on your Mac be sure you can search for hidden files.  Microsoft and Apple like to hide things on users.

Dear JJMack,
it would be nice to help even those who use Photoshop as a hobby (and maybe recently). Ok, I get to the "Styles.psp" file and then what? What I do? That .psp file, for what are my skills, cannot be opened ....
Help me!

Allow me to just say that it is completely ridiculous how much Apple enjoys hiding the important folders, it took me a while since using finder to locate "Styles.psp" didn't go so well. In the end, I managed to get there, follow what you suggested and it worked beautifully. Thank you SO much for the assistance, I greatly appreciate it!
