Photoshop deleting layer when using ctrl + z

Version Adobe Photoshop : 24.1.0 20221206.r.166 be4691b x64

Windows 10, 22H2

Issue:
I'm working on a digital painting, with multiple layers, using ctrl + Z regularly
Then, at random, I use ctrl + Z and photoshop deletes the layer I'm working on.

It can't be found in the history panel, all actions that were made on said layer are erased too

Expected result: Photoshop should undo the last action
Actual result: Photoshop deletes (and erases all info about) the layer
