Photoshop Eraser

I seem to have a problem with the Photoshop eraser. I am not too sure if the problem is the settings.

Whenever I try to erase something, normally a circular outline of the eraser comes up and you can use that to erase anything you want. However now, an outline of the eraser does come up however when I erase a whole circle out of an image, the picture gets erased smaller than the outlined rubber. It is hard to explain so I have attached a picture.

It could be that under Apple>System Preferences>Accessibility>Display the Cursor size is set to something other than Normal.

As has been suggested, it's likely the brush you are using. You should also note that using a layer mask is the preferred method for "erasing", as it is non-destructive and infinately alterable.

You may have chosen a soft brush or changed your brush settings. To get back to the expected defaults, reset the Eraser Tool by right-clicking on its icon in the Option bar:

I have reset the rubber and it does not work. Here is another picture:

I am not too sure why the picture is sideways but you can see the eraser outline and the part it erased was smaller than the outline. Do you think it might be because of the new update?

This is odd. I use MacOS, but there isn't any reports from Window users.

Go to Cmd or Ctrl k to get to your Preferences. Under Cursors (left side), see if you have this:

If you do, and you still have the same problem, try a Preferences Reset
