Hello! I'm experiencing a bug with Photoshop where my file sizes get halved by the program itself as well as the dpi. For example I have a file I created in 800x27500 with 300 dpi but when I export it as jpeg or png the file becomes 436x14999 with 72 dpi. As far as I know I don't have anything to do with it and no one I know experiences this problem. Any solutions?

First the pixel size. Export As, being designed to prepare images for web/screen use is not designed for such a large maximum pixel size so very large pixel sizes are scaled down.

Next the ppi. As stated above, Export As was designed for web use, i.e. preparing images for screen use, where ppi is irrelevant. The ppi value  is just a value used to calculate a physical document size for printing. As such the ppi metadata value is actually omitted when using Export As. When you open a file with ppi data , 72 ppi is assigned by default so that a print size can be calculated.

The answer, if you need to retain the pixel size and the ppi value that you stated, is to use Save As/Save a Copy
