I can no longer open a .pdb Photoshop file. First I get the error message, "This file contains one or more layers that appear to be corrupted. Continue reading the layers?" Then when I confirm with Ok, the message appears. "The file "File.psb" could not be opened because an unexpected end of file was detected. What's the Problem?

I use Adobe Photoshop 2024 Version 25.0 with Windows 11

File corruption is always caused by failing hardware. No exception.

Usually it's a failing drive or bad RAM, but a frequently overlooked cause is external drives at the end of loose or worn cables and connectors.

Especially risky is saving directly over a network connection. That is notoriously unreliable and unpredictable, and something you should never do, ever.

Hey, @superlegger. I'll move this to the discussion for now. We'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Does this happen with a specific file, or a range of files behave similarly? Did you create this document or recieve it from somewhere else?

Where was the document stored? Internal or external drive?

You can find steps for file recovery in Photoshop here: https://adobe.ly/3FHtrBe

Thanks!
