Photoshop for ipad clone tool bug

Photoshop version 5.4 using Ipad pro version ipadOS 17.3.1 and second generation apple pen. When using the clone tool, the clone makes long diagonal streaks across the art instead of the chosen size (which is 34 round)

Please include screenshots or video of your workflow to help us recreate this. 

Are you working on a M1-based iPad? Does this happen with a specific document, or do all documents behave similarly? 

I've tried to use this on a test iPad Pro (non-m1) & in first look, the clone tool behaves as designed. 

Please share more details to help us identify this.
