Unable to end task or force quit through task manager, and also unable to do anything within the Photoshop app itself. Task manager is not showing overtaxed memory. Version 26.6.1 on Windows 11

Correct answer D Fosse

That sounds very risky, and this is certainly not a supported procedure. I'd say it's asking for trouble. Save locally, then copy over.

End whatever's still running in Windows Task Manager, even if it means losing your work. Then reboot and start again.

But you can still tell us where you're saving to.

Unfortunately I can't do either of those things because Photoshop is frozen - nothing within the app is clickable.

@lisa_7937 are you saving locally or to another location, like a USB drive, network storage etc, have you tried manually resetting your Photoshop preferences

Remember to back up your settings before doing the preference reset

If that doesn't help, can you post your Photoshop system info, in Photoshop go to Help > System Info, hit the copy button and paste the entire thing into this thread
