I use fonts with glyphs and suddenly the glyphs are stuck on and won't turn off. So there are glyphs on each letter that I use on a font that has glyphs. I've tried everything I can find as a fix and see that others have the same problem.
Please can you work on a fix? This is really annoying.
Thank you. : )

Hello, sorry. Here is the font I am using and it will only use the glyphs. Even when I click on a normal letter in the glyph pullout menu it makes it with glyph. I've tried copy and pasting and still uses the glyphs. It does it with another font that has glyphs. Same problem. At this point I'm going to try deleting Photoshop and reinstalling it. I'm on the most updated version and using a mac with Sonoma 14.5.

Reinstalling Photoshop did not work. I can't use the main fonts I need.

Hey, @janetmm66. Welcome to the Photoshop Community. I'll help you figure this out. Please share the system info from Photoshop Help > System info > Copy & paste into a text document > upload & attach here.
I'll move this to discussions for now. Does the error appear when you open a specific font?
In this case, you can begin by resetting the Type tool itself. Right-click on the Tool icon in the Toolbar menu and select Reset Tool.
If this does not help, ensure there are no stale preferences in your Photoshop. Go to the location of the preference folder below and rename it to backup.
These changes will give a fresh start to Photoshop as a fresh install. Let me know how it goes.
Thanks!

Hi @janetmm66!
I'm sorry to hear the issue is back. Could you let us know what version of Photoshop and operating system you're using on your new Mac? Is this problem only affecting certain fonts? If so, could you tell us which fonts are causing the issue and whether they are third-party fonts?
Thanks a bunch!
Alek

Hello, I'm using Photoshop 26.5.0 on Sequoia 15.1.1. Yes, they are third party fonts. They have these flourishes before and after the letters (like in picture I posted before) and they are stuck on, so I can't get to the normal letters. Last time I reinstalled completely and it went away but I lost all my patterns so I am trying to avoid that. Thank you!

I reinstalled and hit the button that said remove settings or something like that. It works again now. I do not consider this a fix as I don't like the idea of having to reinstall everything all over again. This is a gitch that needs to be fixed.
