Photoshop Goes Black When I Crop

This just started a few days ago.  I go to crop an image.  When I hit return, the whole screen goes black.  I notice in the Properties panel on the right, under Transform that the width and height are reduced to 1px each after the crop!   Any ideas of what is going on and how to fix???  Using macOS Catalina 10.15.7 on a 2019 Mac Pro.  Thanks.

What version of Photoshop are you using? If not the latest, does updating help?

Thanks for the reply. I’m using Photoshop 22.5.1 which I think is the current version.  Any other thoughts?

Thanks mate. You could try resetting the Photoshop Preferences. They can be found in the Photoshop menu on a Mac and the Edit menu on Windows. Within the General tab is the button Reset Preferences On Quit. This is often a great fix when Photoshop just starts acting "weird".

Hey that's great. Thank you. Resetting the preferences also works as a general solution in many other Adobe programs. Happy cropping 🙂
