Photoshop hangs and is extremely slow

My Photoshop is stuck and has been extremely slow for 2 days. Especially when transforming images, selecting and masking or even converting smart objects. So need urgent help. Thanks for answering;)

I'm having similar issues of extreme lagging all the sudden. Zoom, brushes, move tool, transforms....all taking forever to complete. It's killing my productivity and I can't get my work done in a timely manner. Tried some of these suggestions but also to no avail. Adobe team, what's happening?

For the last 4 days my Photoshop has been unusable when I create a new document. For new projects Photoshop hangs extremely. For example, when I want to reposition a layer or convert a layer to a smart object. The loading times are then also extremely high. With old projects that I have already saved in the cloud, this is not the case and everything runs normally. I therefore ask for help, because I need Photoshop to work and I can not use it reasonably for 4 days.

Thanks for the quick answer. Unfortunately, the steps you suggested did not work. For example, when I insert an image into a document (1280x720) and transform it, it hangs extremely. In addition, my working memory is extremely used up. With a very small document, for example the standard Photoshop format (16x12), everything runs normally.

Please try to disable the option to "Use Graphics Procesor" from Photoshop by going to Preferences, then Performance. Once done, quit & relaunch Photoshop to check if that helps.

If the issue persists, you can try to reset the preferences of Photoshop using the steps described here:
