I don't use Photoshop as one of my main tools, so I've been side-stepping this for a while hoping it would clear up on it's own, but it hasn't. I've been using Photoshop since, what feels like the 90s, and I've never had this happen. I have not changed any hardware recently. Yet for the past 3-4 months Photoshop will just hang and no longer respond to any input after only a minute or less of work. I have to place an image, save, use a tool for 10 seconds, save, the program hangs, and I have to End Task it from the task manager.
It does not however become "unresponsive" and offer to close itself or generate a bug report. I can switch back and forth to the program and it seems to be refreshing it's drawcall or whatever to the monitor, but I can't click on anything, no keyboard shortcuts, nothing.
This is running 25.7 on a paid subscription model, I have a 1080, a Ryzen 5 3600, and 48GB RAM. I have used photoshop for years on this system with no major hardware changes, but the recent version of the software have no been working correctly.
I just installed 24.7.3 and was able to complete the 3-4 minutes of work I was trying to do today without any hangs.

@Malkere Go to Photoshop Help menu/system info and copy/paste details here.
Offhand I would check your File Handling settings and see how frequently you have backups running.
