Photoshop Icon on my MacPro dock shows a question mark and does not open

Does anybody know what is going on? I have Photoshop 2021 installed in my Mac Pro (iOS Catalina), running well until this very moment. I dragged a picture onto the icon at the dock, and a ghost question mark appeared on top of the icon and nothing happened. I opened Creative Cloud and my Photoshop was there, and I opened it throught Creative Cloud. Is it going to be like this from now on???
PLEASE HELP!

P.S. I looked for the Photshop app in the big list of apps in the lower part of Creative Cloud and it was NOT there. I could only see it on the top part, where it said Photoshop was up to date.

Hi

 

It's normal to have a question mark on an icon on the Dock when you delete the application.

 

Each version of Photoshop gets its own icon — the new one does not re-use the old icon. Since you deleted the previous version (it's optional), remove that icon by dragging it off the Dock. Launch PS from Creative Cloud or from the Applications folder and move it in the Dock to keep it there.

If you didn't mean to delete the previous version, you can reinstall 2021 from the Creative Cloud app.

photoshop 2021 does not opend, and there are question mark on the icon of application .. i am using mac

Hello, you might want to make sure that it is still installed, check in your applications folder.

Hi, I just turned on my computer and the adobe software programs I have in my dock on my mac just appeared as ? (question marks).  I downloaded what appeared to be the new updated ones but I just wanted to check that this was the new normal when you need to update?

Do I need to deinstall the old versions as a clean up?

    Thank you Jane for that explanation.  I didn't delete the versions though.  They just appeared as ?'s when I opened my computer this morning.  I had done nothing to them at all.  I have put the new versions in the dock but am wondering if I need to to a clean up of the old versions in further ways than removing the ?? from the dock.

    If you did uninstall Photoshop 2021, you can reinstall it: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/using/install-previous-version.ug.html

     

    Otherwise, launch 2022 and add it to your Dock and add remove the ? icon from the Dock.

      Did you recently update or upgrade your Photoshop?  If so, you may have unintentionally uninstalled Ps 2021.

        The question make means, that link on the doc can't 'find' the applicaiton. Remove it (drag up), find Photoshop in Application Folder, inside the Adobe Photoshop folder. Double Click on the application. Now that will show up in the dock, move it to the postion you want. You may need to run the Creative Cloud app again and reinstall the version you want (if you can't find it in Applications).
