When i opened photoshop yesterday there was a dialogue box saying that because my driver was over a certain age some parts of photoshop would not work.

Why is this.

The driver i have installed is NVIDIA 01/05/2017

22.21.13.8205.

My operating system is Windows 10 (64 Bit)

If necessary what driver should i have and where do i get it.

My Graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti

I dont play games i only use my computer for Photoshop and Lightroom

It is not only games that use the video card. Photoshop and other apps use them to do a lot of work. Old drivers have known bugs or limitations, 4 years old is forever; this area is changing very fast.

Ged

Would you say the 472.12 is the correct one. (see attached)

I am not to familiar with software and am worried if i install the new driver does my machine keep the old driver or is it deleted or overwritten in case the new one does not work.

As i can not see my old driver in the downloads.

Thanks

dave

Hi Dave

That driver should be fine, although there is a newer version available from the link I posted above.

When installing the driver, go to the advanced option and select custom install and then choose the perform clean install.

The current driver will be removed and the new driver will be installed, there's no point in going back to the older driver as Photoshop requires that you install a newer driver for some features to work.
