Photoshop issue or Mac issue? Searching for documents brings up generic icons.

Hello, I've had this issue through the last 2 updates to Photoshop and my Mac system. Right now, I'm in the IOS Sequoia 15.1.1 world of Mac systems. Whenever I search through the Photoshop program for a previous document to open it, I get a long list of generic icons whereupon I can never tell which image I'm looking for. Sometimes, oddly, if I run my cursor across the icons, the images reveal themselves, sometimes not. There is no correct preview image so I need to keep opening documents until I can see which one is the one I need. Does anyone else recognize this issue and can help me fix it? Below, is a screen grab of what I see when I'm looking for a Photoshop image in one of my folders. Any directions beside pulling out my hair? Not sure if it's a quirk from Photoshop or Apple (or a combo).

On Windows, you can set the view in the folder options. This should work in a similar way on the Mac.

Hello, While I appreciate the assistance, viewing folders and their contents is not the issue I'm having. It's when I search for documents through Photoshop, that the icons are generic. Mac's folder viewing option displays the correct icons. The image I sent with the above note is when I press "Open" while in Photoshop to find an image or document. The window that opens when I search for a document in Photoshop shows only generic icons. I'm hoping that explains it better. A year ago, this never happened.

P.S.  Another part of the oddity is, when the search window has opened, if I click on the scroll named "Enable: All Readable Document" the icons turn to correct images. But, only then. Below is the scroll I mean. Again, this is the window that opens when I am searching for a document by clicking on Open while in Photoshop. Fingers crossed.
