I'm need to export my photoshop document as a jpeg with a quality of 10 but my export settings only go up to a 7?
Try using Save As instead of Export. If you don't see jpg as an option using Save As - check your preferences/file handling for "enable legacy save as"
7 is the new 10! Or is 6 the new 10 and 7 the new 12?
Of course, it is not that easy, 7 simply replaces the previous confusing choice of "Great".
Save As or Save As a Copy will include more metadata if this is a concern, there are scripts that could be used to clean out metadata.
Otherwise Export > Save for Web (Legacy) is flexible.
Here is a table of how the different compression levels "line up" between the 3 different methods of producing a JPEG:
* The same RGB 1920 x 1080 px 8 BPC test PSD was used for all saves, no ICC profile included
* Using Save As with Baseline Optimized would add a further ~300-400 KB saving, bringing the results closer to the other two Export methods, apart from minor metadata differences).
* The difference in file size between Save As levels 3/2/1 must be a bug, I tested this twice just in case I made a mistake.
