Photoshop library drag and drop elements to import into groups stopped working

When I try to drag and drop several image files into a library group in my desktop PC Windows, the first file opens in Photoshop and the import stops.  It was working yesterday.  What did I change?

Did you signed out from creative cloud ?

No to both of your questions.

I found my answer through persistant trying.  When I placed the pointer on an image icon in a selected group of files, that image opened in Photoshop.  When I placed the pointer on an image title in a selected group of files, I was able to drag and drop the group of files into a library.
