Photoshop needs to close (just switching tabs)

PC user. I work in Google Drive for Desktop for work.

Every time I have multiple tabs open in Photoshop, if I have not switched between them for some time, when I do Photoshop freezes and tells me it encountered an error and needs to close. This is a long-running thing I have encountered for months. I am working in [recovered] files half the time I make any progress on my work.

I report the error every time for the last few months but there doesn't seem to be any change in the problem.

Any ideas?

@Evan1151 show your IT dept this page - Photoshop does not support saving/working off non-local locations. This isn't new - it's been this way since I can remember.

If they continue to enforce this - they should really look at a DAM system, not Gdrive.

Can't, it's my job and I get in trouble if I work locally instead of the drive. It's the company graphics directory.

@Evan1151 stop working directly out of the Gdrive folder. This is not a supported workflow for Photoshop. The sync is causing corruption while you are working. Save locally (not a synced folder) and try again.
