Photoshop not saving back to lightroom

Photoshop has been working seamlessly while editing in photoshop and then saving back to LRC -- this message has just popped up and I can't seem to find anything on how to unlock the disk, especially because I haven't changed any settings while editing and am at a loss

The hard drive where you're keeping the photos, is it write-enabled?

Photoshop has full access to the disk, and I've reset it a few times. But it only works for so long before it once again says can't write (save back to lightroom classic) because the disk is locked.
